Wooden furniture is always helpful to distribute the sound in order to minimize annoying reflections in rooms. However they are not always considered as good sound absorbers. Until now! Glimakra of Sweden has designed a unique furniture group (Wakufuru) not only in terms of design but also acoustics. By using the open space below the table-top, an efficient hidden acoustic solution is created. Below curves are shown representing measurement data, with and without sound absorption below the table – top. The visual impression are the same in both cases, however the aural impression can change dramatically as sound absorption is integrated.
